Is gender-based pricing fair?
In the article is gender based pricing fair by Jonathan Mintzit talks about opinions of gender based pricing. Some people think that gender based pricing is fair because in some situations is should cause less, such as giving a man a buzz cut takes a lot less time than cutting a women's hair in layers. Also cleaning a mans business shirt is a lot easier than laundering a women's blouse with ruffles or delicate buttons. And others because its been illegal in New York city to charge different prices since 19998s. People also say that if businesses want to charge different prices , they need to have legitimate, nondiscriminatory reasons for the differences. I believe that gender based is not acceptable but at the same time at moments its necessary. At circumstanes its necessary to have gender based pricing because with some things it takes more time which should make it cost more money, as if a women was to get her hair done it should cost more for her than a man because with a women it will take longer to wash her hair nd less time to wash his, and then to get a man hair done it would take less time to do his hair than hers. But under other circumstances men should be costed more. Do you think that gender based pricing is fair. Do you think that the stores that use gender based pricing should get a fine? Or should more stores have gender based pricing?
